A Dream Turned Reality

When the doors of Coast Boutique first opened in 2014, founder Ina Marjakangas had one vision in mind: to create a space where local artists and crafters could showcase their talents, and offer visitors unique and inspired souvenirs.  The boutique quickly became known for its mix of coastal-inspired fashion, local art, and pieces that evoke the carefree spirit of the ocean.

It was clear from the start that Coast wasn’t just another store—it was a place where customers could find something that spoke to their personal style while celebrating the beauty and ease of living by the sea.

Smooth Sailing

Starting a small business is never smooth sailing.  Statistically 20% of small businesses fail in their first year. 60% fail within the first three years and only 33% reach the 10-year mark.

Every business owner knows you are faced with many challenges.  This was certainly true for Coast.  They moved three times in the first four years, finally settling on the iconic Ocean Drive. They survived many changes to the town and global pandemic!

Giving Back to the Community

Coast Boutique is also dedicated to giving back to the community. Over the years, the boutique has supported local charities, events, and initiatives, from beach cleanups to local school fundraisers. It’s this sense of community that has helped Coast build such a strong and enduring connection with its customers.
